Alter a retirement ot lialf-an-hottr. the Grand Jury returned “no true '"H ’ >n the case against Xeils Mortensen, charged with assaulting and wounding Ivlaus Bohert Xordberg, at le Kinga. on October 8, 1927, with intent to do grievous bodily harm, and -Mortensen was discharged. TRUE BILLS. True bills were returned by the Grand Jury in the following cases:— Donald Mine bin. .John Henry Minchin, and William John Haseler, charged that on December 21st, 1927. at Blaketov, n. they did indecently assault Irene Boyce. They were also charged with assaulting Irene Bovee on the same date. AVilliam Jamieson, on or about November (>. 1927. at Xgaheiv. alleged assault on John Buttcnvorth, so as to cause grievous bodily harm. Charles Clayton, on August 19. 1927, at Dobson, alleged assault on John Voybe. so as to cause actual bodily harm. Erasmus Arthur Jones, alias Arthur Edward .Tones, on December 14, 1927, fdleged indecent assault on Francis Galbhvith and lan Fergus Ferguson. BLAK ETOWX ASSAULT CASE. Donald ' .Tliiiehin. John Henry Mincbin. and AVilliam John Haseler, each 1(1 years of age,'wete charged on two (omits, one that at’Blaketown on December 21st last they indecently assaulted I relic Boyce; and the other that thcV assaulted Irene Boyce. The 1 jury, after more than half an hour's retirement, returned with a Verdict that the three accused were guilty of common assault, with a strong recommendation to mercy. Mr Joyce asked for renewal of hail. :fes 'Honour sard bail would have required to have been substantial, but ‘iii view of the jury’s recommendation, they would ‘ he released on tbeir own reeognaisances to' appear cn Wednesday morning. DOBSON ASSAULT CASE. Charles Clayton, trucker, of Dobson, was charged that on August 19th last, at Dobson, he did assault John Vovee. 'causing actual bodily harm, and further that he did assault John Voyee. The jury, after a retirement of ten minutes, found a verdict of not guilty

on botu charges, and the prisoner Was discharged. ,
