Memores ol the climbing tragedy on -Mount Cook on February 22. 191-1. were icvived last week, when a memorial service was field at the monument. near ibe Hermitage. The servile was conducted by the Rev. A. liegg. of Timani.. and a wreath was placed on the monument, which was erected in memory of Sydney King, a member of the English Alpine Club, and Guides J. Richmond and D. Thomson, who. while descending after scaling Mount Cook, were killed by an. avalanche on the Upper Linda Clavier.
