The following particulars for the Joan transactions of the Public Trust Ofihe and new business reported during the month ended 31st January, 192-, have been supplied bv the Right Hun. the Prime .Minister. Tiie amount paid out in settlement of new loans was £Bo,<>o3, making a total of £2.1.33,172 since the beginning of the present linancial year on Ist April last. Further new loans to the amount of t 07.1 >2(l were g: anted, inakng a total of new loans awaiting settlemnt £027.341, while oilers of loans less than the lull advances .applied for amount to £107.903—a grand total of £703.237. Applications for additionnew loans amounting to £-134,310 are now under consideration. The new business for the month was extraordinarily good and its volume has not previously been equalled. Estates and funds were reported to the value of £-.31.4,'-3. making the total new business for the ten months front Ist April last £5,40!),.385. This showfi an increase over the corresponding period for the previous year of £1,244,-44-3. On Ist April. 1927. the total value of estates and funds under administration was £41.043,5.23. Xew wills deposited for safe custody by testators appointing' the Public Trustee their executor numbered 41S, and the total now held is.-37,2-48.
