An unusual petition was heard in the Supreme Court to-day when an order was made disentitling H. Betts to the Sutton Cup. presented for a mangold growing competition in South Taranaki. The application was made by C. G. AV ills. second in the competition against J. G. Ward and co-donors of the cup. on the grounds that Betts a farmer (aged 91) made his entry too late.
