To mark the occa- v sion cricketers of Dunedin have pur- ( chased him a handsome souvenir which n will he handed to him at Carisbrook s ground to-morrow. The souvenir is of a unique character. On a greenstone base three stumps, all being knocked -j back are shown with the hails lying - on the ground and on a stretch or v silver wicket are inscribed the words .- “ Well bowled." The coat of arms of Dunedin and a silver fern are also dis- ( played on the souvenir, the fern hearing the inscription: “To V. \ . Grim- $ mett. from cricketers of his native ; city.” ;
