NUPTIALS

St. Paul’s Methodist Church hold a very large congregation yesterday afternoon, the occasion being a very pretty wedding of two young people well known and popular in Hokitika and district. The contracting parties were Mr Lynn Leslie, fifth son o f Mi and Mrs Robert Ross, of Gilisoii Quay, and Miss Beryl Clarice, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs Albert Dunford, of Greymouth. formerly of Hokitika. Tiie Revd. G. Knowles-Smitlf was tho officiating Minister. The Church was prettily decorated by the friends of the bride. The bride, who entered the Church oil the arm of her father, was charmingly attired in a French mode] frock of ivory chene-de-cfiine, with side panels and diamante trimming. The beautiful hand worked veil, a gift of the bride’s sister-in-law, was held in place by a coronet of orange blossoms, with ear-ring pendants. She carried a beautiful bouquet of orchids, lily of the valley, and maidenhair fern. The bride was attended by Miss Lorna Mclntosh as chief bridsemaid. and Al iss Noelle Dunford (sister of the bride). The former wore a frock of eaii-dc-nil taffeta, deep scalloped lioni, mauve and peach motifs. The latter wore a similar frock of pea'cli taffeta, with green and mauve velvet trimmings. Both bridesmaids wore head-dresses of tulle, and carried bouquets to match their frocks. The bridegroom’s mother wore a black crepe-de-chine frock, with hat to match. The duties of best man were carried out by Mr L. Ross and Air V. Dunford acted as groomsman. The reception was held at Preston’s tea rooms. The bride’s mother received her guests in a smart frock of fawn beaded georgette with bat to tone. The happy couple left later by car for Greymouth, the bride wearing a bronze suit, with hat and shoes to match. The honeymoon will be spent with a holiday in the North Island
