ADOINCTON STOCK SALES. CHRISTCHURCH, Feb. 22. At Addington Stock Sales to-day prices showed a general improvement, especially in regard to quality. The yardings in some lines were smaller, but there were mostly good clearances. Fat lambs had a. very good market, and there were a good many West Coast lambs offered. Fat cattle—There was a small yarding oi fat cattle, only 39-1 being penI ned. Prices were slightly better, especially for prime medium weights. Ihe heavier sorts, or those showing | lack of finish were hard to sell. Prime steers sold at £l3 to £l-1 15s, extra to £lO 17s Od. medium i'll to £l2 10s. others to £7 10s. Prime heifers sold at £9 to £lO ss, others to £-1 15s. Prime cons sold to CIO 15s, extra to £l2 10s, medium £7 to £B. Store cattle—Tin*- entry was small and the demand was good. One line of I 18 months to two years steers fetched £6 17. s Gd. while a few three and four year -uillorks of a good sort made £lO 15s. There was no other quotable mi tries. hat sheets—There was a smaller •aiding of fat sheep. The quality was cry irregular. They mostly wore ™os. It was a good sale throughout, ohedule prices hoing well maintained, ’rime wethers sold at 29,s to 33; extra o 30s 10d. medium 2Grs to 28s Gd, fliers to 235, prime ewes 19s to 26s Od, extra to 29s 10d, medium IGs to 8s Gd, others to 12s Gd. Store sheep—There was a very large aiding, including a large proportion f lambs. Although the market may ave been easier, the sale under the rcvailing conditions, must ho condoled a good one. There was a large 'try ol North Island ewes. The qualV was hardly up to. the usual siantrd. Lanins fetched 17s 9d to 21 s 2d, ■st crossbred lambs to 23s -Id, medium s Gil to lbs, others to 12s, host twootli Romney ewes to 355. others 21s to 29s Gd, inferior to 18s, soundmouth ewes 20s to 23s Gd. medium IGs Gd to 19s Gd, others to 13s, culls to Gs. "Very few wethers wore yarded. Fat lambs—There was n small entry of fat lambs, including several AVest toast consignments. The quality was not too good. There was a splendid saio, the schedule being knocked “handy.” Prime lambs sold at 29s Gd to 32s Gd. extra to 33s Id, medium 26s to 295, light lines to 2-1 s Gd. graziers’ sorts to 22s Kid. Pigs—There was a small yarding of pigs and both porkers and haeoners sold better. Choppers fetched 50s to 73s fid. light porkers 36s to 40s. heavy ■l2s to 50s. The average price was Gd to id per lh. Light haeoners fetched £2 10s to £3. heavy to £4 Gs Gd, average price per lh. 5d to 33d. There was a medium entry of store pigs. The market, especially for woaners was very dull. Weaners sold at is to 10s and host to 13s. ,Small stores fetched IGs to 20s, medium to 255. host, to 30s Gd.
