(Australian & N.Z. Cable Association.) HINKLER LANDS AT DARWIN. DARWIN, Feb. 22. Bert Hinkler landed here safely at six o’clock. The whole town had been agog all day. and every preparation was made for tbe landing. He had an enthusiastic welcome. The warship Melbourne left early in the morning for Singapore, steering along the line of Hinkler’s flight and keeping a sharp look-out. HINKLER AT DARWIN. (Received this day at 8 a.in.) DARWIN. Feb. 22. The whole population simmered with excitement for Hinkler’s arrival and gathered hours ho fore he was due and anxiously watched lor the liver s appearance out of the void, as he finished tl„. last lap of the 930 miles from Rima. one long record-breaking flight. He was given a rousing reception as he taxied down to the aerodrome and gracefully alighted. Hinkler and ' machine are both in excellent trim.
