A largi body of men assisted the police officer to drag the lagoon last evening without result, and this morning at daylight another large number of men started to cut out the lagoon to enable the water to run away and sn assist in the search. At present there is no further news, hut there appears to be little doubt that AVoolhouse is drowned. “Chris” AA'oolhonse is an old Ross boy. a son of ATr AVoolhouse, who for many years ran the coach service to Ross. lie was a well known member of thi' Ross Cricket Club in the heyday of its glory in the ’eighties and ’nineties, when his fast bowling assisted so much in the successes of his Club. Air AA'oolhonse has been in charge of Alessrs Perry Bros, holding at Evans Creek for the past Id or 10 years and he was on his way to llokitik afor cattle when the apparent mishap occurred. lie is married with three children, ami about oft years of age.
