There are twenty 2 bands, from all parts of New Zealand, 1 comepting in the contest. In the afternoon the C Grade Quick- • step, the B Grade Quickstep, and tlie ■ Pipe Bands’ Quickstep were decided. In the evening tlie G Grade Highland Pipe hands played their test pieces. ’ The contest, was officially opened, by Sir Heaton Rhodes.
