A fire broke out at 11.45 last night in the premises in Alain Street, owned by H. Goodwill, of Wellington, and occupied by AT. Alatlar, draper. Ihe brigade made a brilliant save. The stock suffered no damage from fire and very little from water. This shops adjoins the premises that were destroyed by fire a few weeks ago. CRUELTY TO HORSE. NEW PLYMOUTH, Feh. 17. Reserved judgment was given by Air 'Pate, S AL, this morning in the case in which P. C". Sole, A\’. Theobald and Jack Kopu, were charged with cruelty to a horse. The evidence disclosed that the horse was driven by defendants while it was suffering with a broken shoulder. Sole was fined £ls and costs. Theobald £lO and costs and Kopu convicted and ordered to pay costs.
