ADDINCTON STOCK SALES. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association.) ( HHISTCHUBCH, Feb. 15. At the weekly sale at the Metropolitan Market to-day, there were fairly large consignments of West Coast sheep and lambs, which, though lacking in quality, realised prices well up to schedule rates. Details are as follows : Fat Cattle.— A small yarding (378) of fair quality, mostly steers. Competition was keen, and there was a slight advance. Steers heavy realised £l4 10s to £lO 12s (id. medium £l2 10s, to £l4 15s. light £7 10s to £0 10s. heifers £8 I.os to £lO 10s, extra to 112 Is, fid, medium Cfi os to £i 10s. mediumh £7 to £B, rough £5 os to £6 15s. Store Cattle.—A medium entry. .Several lines of steers were forward. 'I wo and a-half year steers made £7 12s fia. three years £8 10s, young tows £4 os to £4 15s. medium £3 to £4, others £2 10s. Bulls £5 and £7 10s. Fat Sheep.—A medium yarding with a larger proportion of wethers than usual? exporters operating keenly for medium weights. The quality was irregular. The market was firmer for medium weights, which sold well up to and in some cases over schedule rates. Heavier sheep, if anything, were slightly easier. Prime ewes realised 28s fid to 325, extra to 36s Id, medium 26s to 28s, lighter to 22s fid. prime ewes 17s fid to. 235, extra to 28s Id ; medium 16s to 17s, others 12s fid. Fat Lambs. —A similar yarding to last week. There were several consignments of West Coast lambs, the quality of which in most cases " 'j s disappointing. There was a good sa - throughout, especially for the >es quality, and prices fully up to anc in most cases well above schedule lates. Prime lambs realised 28s fid to 325, a few extra special quality to 36s medium 26s fid to 28s, others, to 22s 10d. Store Sheep.—A large entry, especially of adult sheep, lambs being for- . ward in smaller numbers. Several lines ' of West Coast lambs were yarded an ! generally the quality . was mediocre. [ .Nevertheless all grades cold firm a
last week’s rates. Isest West Coast lambs made 20s to 23s 4d, medium 10s (id to 18s 9d. Best local crossbreds to 23s 3d, medium 15s to 17s 6d. The owes comprised chiefly travelled steep and West Coast consignments, with a few lots of local sheep. The market was irregular. Best halfbred two tooth local ewes sold up to 40s 6d, old ewes 10s (id to 13s, S.M. ewes los to 20s, 4, (i, and 8-tooth ewes 19s to 265, 4 ahd (5-totoh 24s to 325, 2-tooth ewes 23s to 325. A few wethers were offering and sold at from 18s to’23s. WOOL SALES. SYDNEY, Feb. 16 v At the wool sales the market continued strong at the best point of the season with general competition and good clearances. Crossbreds were in keen demand, prices still tending upward.
