MOTOR SMASH
TWO OCCUPANTS KILLED. By Telegraph—Press Assn., Copyright. WANGANUI, Feb. 15. A terrible motor smash occurred on, the Marangai Hills, five miles from Wanganui on the Alain Rond to-night,i when a car containing three men, apparently skidding in loose liietal, left the road and somersaulted down a steep slope, coming to a rest a hundred yards from the road. Two men were killed. They were David Hector AlacKenzie. single 27, traveller for Levin and Co., at AVellington, and the other is thought to : be Will in m Earle, aged 30, storekeeper, of Khaiulalhih. where lie is in business with his brother. A third mail, William Emery Do Malinanche, grocer of Levin, who joined the others at that town, escaped deatli miraculously and was taken to AVanganui Hospital where it was reported late to-night that bis condition was not serious. He sustained shoulder injuries. The driver is thought to' have been AlacKenzie, who used the car in bis business. The faces of deceased were terribly mutilated, and AlacKenzie was only identified by papers in liis pocket. The car was wrecked beyond repair.
