An inquest was held at Hackney upon the body of Edith Biggiidike. aged '<( , veh year-, who died of shock from burn through lief clothing catching fire when she was standing on a fender combing her hair in front of a mirror. It was stated that althongn badly burned, the child walked a considerable distance when being taken

to hospital. The coroner. Dr Edwin Smith, said he supposed the foster motiier thought that she was acting for the heat but when he thought of the pain the child must have suffered in walking such a distance, and under .•siuli circumstances, ft made him shudder. “Accidental death” was the verdict.
