The hundred yards championship of New South Wales resulted : Ena Stocklcy (New Zealand) ... 1 Joan Cocks (Bondi) 3 15. Taw (Sydney) 3 AUss Stockley set a hot pace from an even start, and had a. comfortable lead at the end of fifty yards, with the others almost in line. The New Zealander then went further ahead and never looked like being beaten, winning ffiost comfortably. Tt was obvious throughout the race that the pace of Aliss Stockley was out of the ordinary. Her time (1.(5 1-5) was only one-fifth of a. second outside the Australian record, held by Fanny Durnck, The LfOyds New South AA'ales Championship resulted : —- K. Alillcr (New Zealand), 1 E. Davoy - B. Taw Aliss Davev led in the early part of the race from Aliss Miller, being three yards ahead at 220 yards, but before the swimmers reached 330 yards, Afiss .Miller began to move up. and putting on a phenomenal hurst, caught Aliss Davev twenty-live yards from the finish. There was a desperate struggle to touch, the New Zealander gaining the judges’ verdict though* many spectators were under the impression that it was a dead bent. Aliss law Mas 12 vards away.
