The City Council considered a request hat it appoint a member to represent it. at the citizens' meeting next week, when it is proposed to forward to the Government a resolution suggesting that steps h<> taken immediately to introduce a National Unemployment Insurance Bill.

Mayor Baildon said it looked remarkably like the dole, and lie was not in favour of that. If they sent a delegate to the meeting they would be confirming the opinion that unemployment insurance was necesxarv.

At the inquest on the man found drowned in Manakau harbour, evidence of identification was given by the wife that the body was that ol Enoch Edward Morgan. 12 years ol age. She had two young children. .Morgan resigned from the Bostal Department at Hamilton in August last. lie had since been travelling for dillerent linns, lie was worried over financial difficulties and had to borrow money which lie was not able to repay. The Coroner’s verdict was suicide while in a depressed stale of mind.
