Some bright tennis was seen in the doubles match between Rorotra and Boussus, and l'attcrsou and O’Hara Wood, which the Australian pair woo l, v (; 4, (5— 2. Rorotra was the outstanding player, with Wood very close behind him. Patterson had a tendency to take his drives too low. and frot| uently found the net. Boussus. until near tiie end of the second set. did not find Ins feet. He seemed iion-plussod bv the speed of the play, and mistimed a. lot of his volleys. Boussus played on the right hand side of the court. The Australians were not long in finding the weakness of his backhand. Patterson served consistently to t nit corner, and even when Boussus was able to return the delivery, it was generally weak, leaving too much court open. _____
