RAPID RISE.
SPECULATION ON ’CHANGE. LONDON, Dec. 17. Triplex Safety Glass shares, which hayo »een the medium of excited Stock Exchange speculation during the last few weeks, had another sensational rise yesterday. Persistent buying carried the price up from the overnight level of under £ll for the £1 shares to £l3. At the present figure the market valuation of the company's £125,000 of issued capital amounts to £1 ,G25,000. The rise has been accompanied by a variey of statements regarding new contracts which t lk- company is supposed to have received or to he lie gotiat i ng.
An American undertaking in which the company is interested is understood to have made an agreement, with Mr Ford, hut at what extent the English eompnnv will benefit from this is at prosent uncertain For 1025-2(5 the company paid dividends of 15 per rent, and for the following year of 12( per cent. Something like 100 per rent, would he needed to justify the present market price.
