MINISTER OF AGRICULTURE AT ROSS

Hun. (). Ila when, accompanied by Messrs Seddon, Macintosh Ellis, ,McCavoek and party visited the State Nurseries at M nudstork and Plantation at Riniu. At Ross, the Mayor (Mr S. P. Evans) and Mr Seddon. .M.l’.. welcorned the Minister. Mr Seddon introduced si deputation of the Lime Kiln Company regarding carriage oi lime tor farmers. Mr John Murdoch emphasised the importance oi this to the .Minister ol Agriculture in the interests of agriculture generally. The Minister promised on his return to Wellington to arrange the matter with the Railway authorities. Mr Murdoch also requested assistance to the Lime Kiln Company to construct a road.
The Minister visited the Kiln and promised consideration. The party accompanied by Messrs W. .1. Butler. A. Seed and A. Chapman. travelled trom Ross to A\aitaha by Stuart and Chapman's sawmill train line.
