French, Italian and German, and research work in French and Latin at Strasbiirg University, and during the same period at Geneva University ho took a special leacHer's course in French and education, fie matriculated at Strashui'g and obtained a certificate of completion "A Geneva. ITc became first assistant at Timuru High School in 1904 anti in the same year he was successful in obtaining a position on the staff of the Auckland Grammar School, taking senior work in French and Latin. Tift remained on the staff fill 1929. being second master during the last lev years, of his term. The same year Mr TL iimmond was appointed examiner under the -Senate of the University of Xi-w /calami in French and Gorman for the If.A. degree. Later he was Chief Inspector of Secondary Schools in Xcw Zealand, to which position ho was appointed in 1921. During the course of the war Mr Drummond was engaged as military censor hy the New Zealand Defence Department, it being his duty to examine all correspondence in French. German and Italian at the Chief Dost Ollico. Auckland. ?>lr Drummond represented both the Auckland Grammar School and University College in Rvgbv a I different times and also was a member of the first eleven at Nelson College.
