January, although not officially confirmed, has set all Germany speculating on tile cause of the staggering citastroplie by the destruction of Ablborn airship station, which hitherto bad been jealously guarded. The newspapers lengthily review I lie conllagration pointing out the official theory of a baffling occurrence at the time that it was accidental. It declared the whole Navy stood aghast before the ruins. It was an evil om**n of the year 191 S. Nearly the entire garrison "as in barracks, when, without warning, the countryside h • came illuminated by an 'immense column of fire from the hangars. The ll.ime was six hundred feet high. There was a terrific report, and the barracks shook and buildings collapsed in startling succession. Three remaining hangars blow tip. although separated In- half a mile. The ground was littered with debris for miles. Five Zeppelins wee destroyed, thirty men were killed and a hundred injured.
