BOWLING.

The final of the singles championship tournament, held in connection with the (■'reymouth Bowling Club, was played at the (trey green last evening, the competitors being L. Mercer and Blair.

The match resulted in an easy win for .Mercer, who defeated his opponent by a substantial margin.

Blair started well by winning the first two heads, hut after that he seemed to have difficulty in getting his strength of the. green, and Mercer soon gained a formidable lead. The game was concluded with four heads to go. Blair then requiring to win 17 to beat bis opponent. Mercer has now won the singles championship for three years in succession. Only on two occasions have competitors succeeded in winning the championship for two years in succession. Mercer’s feat being a record for the Club.
