SWIMMING CARNIVAL

TO-NIGHT AT 7.30. A record crowd is expected at the Swimming Maths this evening to witness the visiting lady champion swimmers from Auckland, who will he competing in several events against the pick of the West Coast swimmers. Last evening a: the Grevmoiillr carnival there was a record attendance anil a particularly good exhibition was given hv tin- visitors, the star event being tin* 220 yards race. This finally resol veil itself into a contest, between Miss Champion and S. .Malloy, both oil' scratch and after a very exciting go was won hv Aliss Champion by a tench. These two meet again to-night and a great contest will eventuate. Another good attraction to-night will hi* flu* Ileavyweigliit race lor which a number of old champions are coming! from Grcyinoul h to compete against tin* locals. Those burly swimmers competed lust night at Grcyniouth and the event was most interesting as well as amusing.
