LAND SALE

Considerable interest was taken in the sale of 1145 acres ot L.I.P. land in .South Westland, in the estate of the late S. and ,1. R. Wallace, which was sold on Saturday. The property is all heavy fattening and swamp land and lias a reputation as a cattle grazing run and also for its flax resources. It was sold by the Public Trustee to close the estate. Bidding opened at 30s per acre, and quickly reached £2 15s at which figure it was passed to Mr A. Jamieson. Finally at £3 per acre (the reserve) tne auctioneers effected a sale to Dr Guy Haskins, of Christchurch. Messrs W. Jeffries and Co, were tlie auctioneers.
