FOOTBALL.
(Australian it N.Z. Cable Association.) AVARATAHS AND LONDON DRAAV. LONDON. Jan. 28. The AVaratahs drew with London, there being no score. (Received this day at 8 a.m.) SYDNEY, Jan. 28. Twickenham was cold, wet, windy and slippery. There were 12,000 present. A dour forward struggle under appalling conditions, seemed to inlect the players. The game generally was uninspiring. Owing to the Army match, London was unable to call up several internationals and the AVaratahs were equally unfortunate owing to injuries. The forwards decided the success, winning three times as many scrums as London, but the latter wore superior in the line-outs and showed better generalship, owing to a greater experience of similar conditions. Most ol the AVaratalls showed further signs of staleness. Nevertheless they lived up to tlieii tradition as good finishers and only narrowly failed to snatch a last-minute try. IRELAND BEATS FRANCE. LONDON. Jan. 28. Ireland heat the French Rugby team at Bedfast by 12 points to 8.
