Mayor Troup again appeals to-day for support of a Dominion wide fund for the widows of the lost airmen.
A street day is to be held in Wellington next week. ' The Mayoral fund in Wellington now stands at-£4lB 11 s. ITALIAN ACT. CRASHES TO DEATH ROAIE, Jan. 20. Nardini, the brilliant wartime aviator, was killed when a defect developed in his machine as lie was flying at a height- of three thousand feet. He then crashed. Nardini leapt off the plane with a parachute when at a height of 150 ft, but it failed to open and he was killed. LEAP FROM ’PLANE. SYDNEY, Jan. 27. Sixty thousand people attended the Domain to wtacli Lieut. Hankon Quillet* leap from an aeroplane by means of a parachute. He landed in a tree unhurt.
