DENTIST’S NECK. A Paris dentist is claiming damages from a friend, an antiquary, with whom he went out recently for a day’s shooting. The friend drove him home afterwards but the car struck a gate post and dearly overturned. The dentist’s head struck the roof of the car with such violence that he ricked his neck. The injury has left him stiff-necked and he is consequently unable to look into the mouths of clients seated in the operating t-hair. 'lbis being a serious disability, ho claims nearly LIOOO from his friend, who declines to pay. Ihe question has. therefore, been carried into the courts. Troman struck the child oil the head with a poker, killing him at once. i GIRL’S CAPTURE. An amusing story ol how a young woman, armed with a clothes pole, frustrated a man’s escape from a house in Arcos Drive, Mosspark, Glasgow, was told at the Divisional Court, when a young man appeared before the magistrates on a charge of housebreaking and was remanded in custody. ihe young woman, who lives in Areas Drive, was seated by the window when she saw a man acting in a. suspicious manner outside a house which she knew to he empty. She raised the alarm, and the house was surrounded by a crowd. Disturbed in bis activities, the alleged burglar tried to make off, but his attempt to escape was frustrated by the girl, who barred his progress with a clothes pole. Realising that ho was trapped, the young man switched on the electric light., seated himself in a comfortable armchair, and resigned himself to await the arrival of the police.
