for to-day s sale at, Addington there t\as a good attendance of buyers, and there was a good sale. West Coast mutton sold well while the AVest Coast lambs met with an excellent sale. The following arc tin* details ol the various linos;—
fat cattle;—There were 520 head of cade offered against 361 head last week. Prices opened easier, hut they hardened in the middle of the sale. l owards the end. however, the rates were on a. par with those at the opening.
Extra prime steers. £l6 10s to £lB 17s (id; prime medium. £l4 to £ls 15s ; medium. £ll 15s to £l3 10s ; cows and heifers, extra prime £] 1 10s to £ll 7s 6(1: prime £8 to £lO Ids'.; light £5 5s to £(i 7s Gd.
Store cattle:—There was a larger entry. chiefly of cows and heifers, in the store cattle section than last week. One line ol forward steers and good calves realised up to £lO 5s Gd. Best cows sold to £5 10s medium cows £2 10s to £3 15s; old and stale cows £1 and upwards. Two year steers sold to £6 12s.
Fa,l sheep:— The fat slice]) entry 1 was not a big one. The well-finished exhibits were competed lor keenly, and the schedule prices wore exceeded, in many eases easily. The best wethers sold up to 35s prime. 29s to 325; medium 26s to 29s others 255. The best, ewes sold to 31s ; prime ewes 23s to 30s medium ewes 18s to 225; and others went as low as 13s.
.Store, sheep;—ln the store sheep section. there was a similar number ol store lambs forward to that at last sale. The standard was not as good however. There was a large number of buyers on the scene, and practically all the lots were sold. All classes, however were easier liv from Is Gd to 3s per head. \Ve would strongly recommend the graziers to dip their stock with a strong mixture. Of adult sheet) there were 5609 penned. One line of two-tooth three-quar-ter bred ewes was paused in at. 33s Gd. Lines of two and four-tooth ewes three-quarter-bred fetched 26s Bd. Other lots front the same line sold at 24s 7d. Rape ewes fetched from 5s to 15s. Tin* hulk of the entry was not attractive. Wethers, all hall-hreds and comebacks, were slightly easier. The buyers were principally from South Ashburton. The best quality lamball taken up Ft l lit* but', hepThe export houses wen* well (epicanted, and keen competition as the order of the day.
