Passengers in the .Maiiiiganui were enthralled many hours last night by an amazing storm, and stayed on deck from sundown until midnight watching tla> spectacle. Throughout the storm it was impossible for the liner to send or receive radios. C’YCLONK WRECKS HOUSES. SYDNEY, .Tan, 21. A cyclone storm swept Mayfield,.near Newcastle. The storm operated over a narrow strip, and demolished a number of houses, and blowing people off their feet. The damage is extensive, lint luckily there were no casualties after the visitation. The wrecked houses and furniture wore scattered in all directions. CYCLONE DAMAGE. (Beosived this day at Id. 15 a.mA SYDNEY. .Tan. 25. The cyclone at Newcastle, cabled last night, lasted only fifteen minutes. It carried everything Indore it. and did damage to the extent of ten thousand sterling, none of which was covered by insurance. Accompanied by a blinding rain, the cyclone tore its way along a clearly defined route, about fifty yards wide through the suburbs of Mayfield and Waratnh. Iron and tiled roofs were blown off like paper and in some instances whirled a hundred yards away. Apart from slight, injuries suffered by two women, who were struck by falling debris, no casualties are reported. Altogether fifteen homes were wreok-
