ARAHURA FAT STOCK SALE. At the fortnightly fixture at the above yards yesterday, 40 head nt fat cattle were submitted b.v Messrs JelIries and Co to a moderate attendance ol buyers. Competition was restricted to medium weight finished cattle which realised, pel* hundred, prices a little in advance of last sale. There was a lair preponderance of cow* beef offered, the quality of some being good, the remainder indifferent. A choice pen ol runners sold well.

Messrs W. Jeffries and Co. sold as follows:—For a client, 2 blks at £l2 ss, 2 blks at 01*2 2s (id, 1 hfr at £9; for Poerua Run. 2 Idles at 914. 1 blk at £l3 40s, 2 biles at £l3, 3 Idles at £l2; 3 blks at £ll, 2 blks at £lO 10s, 3 hl'rs at 98 7s (id ; 1 cow at 98 12s (id. 2 cows at 97 17s fid. (i cows at 97 10s, 1 cow at 99, 2 runners at 90, 2 runners at 95 17s lid, I cow at 95 15s.

M. Houston and Co. report:—The usual fortnightly sale was held yesterday at the above yards, there being.a fairly good attendance of buyers. Owing to one of our clients having lost 25 head of cattle through straying from the paddock overnight, we were left fairly short of cattle. The entry all round was therclore much lower than at previous fixtures, with the result that prices firmed considerably, ox beef bringing fully 40s per hundred, whilst cow and heifer heel also sold well.
