AYRO ENGINE FAILS. CHRISTCHURCH, Jan. 21
The stalling of an aeroplane engine caused a slight accident at Sockburn Aerodrome this morning.
Captain Findlay was flying in an Avro instructional machine and his pupil was Cadet Jenkins. The engine failed, and a hedge looming up in front, it was necessary to force a landing. to avoid a more serious accident. Captain Findlay suffered a slight cut over one eye. Jenkins was uninjured. The machine was slightly damaged. PASSENGER PLANES CRASH. BERLIN, Jan. 21. A Cologne message states that two serious French passenger plane crashes arc reported. In the first, <m the Paris-Berliii ; route a plane became befogged and, Vcrashed in a wood near Tecldenburg, Prussia, where it was wrecked. A Frenchman jumped out and was sliglitlv injured, and two Germans were dangerously hurt. The pilot succumbed. The second crash occurred near (Essen, three passengers being seriously injured. COBH AM’S FLIGHT RESUMED. MALTA, Jan. 21. Sir Alan Cobliam lias resumed Ims flight en route from Benghazi to Kyo.
