DRUIDISM
The fortnightly meeting of Westland Lodge No. 89 U.A.O.D. was held in the lodge room on Thursday evening, there being a large attendance of members
present. The officers roll was called and att.cn dances noted.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. A vote of condolence was carried in silence to a brother on the loss of his sister; also a vote of sympathy to the relatives and parents of the brother. The Grand President, Pro. T. H. Wilson, of Auckland was then admitted and received with Druidic .hire and chorus. The outward correspondence was read and approved, inward read and received. Bards reported sick members doing fairly well. Sick pay to the amount of £G 3s 4d and accounts to the amount of £4 IPs were passed for payment. Two candidates were initiated into the rites of Druidism Ivy A.D. Pro. 'I . Brown, assited Ivy his officers, in a very impressive manner. Pleasure was expressed at seeing a very old P.A. again able to attend the Dodge after a very lengthy illness. The Grand President then complimented the officers on their performance of the initiation ceremony. Afle doing so he gave a lengthy and very interesting address on the more interesting and vital points of the Grand Lodge workings. Several questions were asked by different members and were answered Ivy the Grand President.
P.D.P. Pro. W. Robinson then moved a vote of thanks to the Grand President for the very capable manner in which questions were answered. I lie Grand President returned thanks for the reception he received on visiting Westland Lodge and complimented the Lodge in general and P.D.P. Pro. J. Kox in particular cv 11 the efficiency of Ivis secretaryship.
'the Lodge then closed in harmony and adjourned to the supper room where the Bards had prepared a light supper.
