THE SAMOAN TROUBLE.
OFFICIAL REPORT. (IJy Telegraph —Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON. Jan. 10. Hon. W. Downie Stewart (Miuistei of Finance) advises that the Administrator of Samoa reported by radiogram dated Apia, January Util, as lollows—- " Nelson and Smyth lelt bv lolua today. Parties of .Man natives came from Savaii the previous day and made a demonstration in Samoa. Loyal natives asked the Administrator to he allowed to assist in the ease ot trouble, but were requested to remain at tbeii villages. A small number ol natives were on the wharf when Nelson and Smyth left. There was no demonstration. In Nelson’s farewell address to the Man natives on the wharf, he said : |{fly on me. lam going to win a vietorv tor Samoa. I ask you to stick to the Man. Stick to it. Stick to it.” A Samoan orator replied: '* Me will try to carry out your wishes, keep the peace anil carry on the Alan forever.
