Sidnei Harwood, licensee o' t.. 0 Black's Point Hotel, set out from his home to go to work in the Inglewood Aline, and whilst on his way, stopped, and went to the Energetic Mine, which is not working. Ibe police and a party of men 101 l this morning with grappling irons t< recover the body, the latter being recovered at 11 a.in. The party worked with the grappling irons from No. -I level. The tragedy lias cast a gloom ove: the whole district. The deceased, win: was a native of Warm hen Forest. South Australia, was 3U years ol age. and up till Christmas bad been working at the Black water Alines at AVaiuta. lie bad not gone back there alter Christmas, but obtained work in the Inglewood quartz mine. He was on his way to bis first shift. Deceased was licensee, of the Crushing! on Hotel for about two years, and then took over the Black’s Point Hotel, about two years ago. He was well respected and liked by all who knew him. He leaves a widow, two daughters and one son. to whom the greatest sympathy is extended. The body, when recovered, was badly mutilated and cut about, and it is surmised that he committed suicide. The inquest will be held at Black’s Point to-morrow morning at If o’clock.
