AIRMEN MISSING. TUG’S REPORT. (B.v Telegraph—Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Jan. 12. The -Minister of Defence has ordered another aeroplane to leave Christchurch to come to Trentham to search the surrounding country. A report from the tug Toiit fit 8.35 a.m. states she was 30 degrees 38 tnii> south and 173 deg 45 min east. The wind is east, fresh, wit hmoderatc sea and visibility good. Nothing wassighted. CAPTAIN BUCK LEY’S SEARCH. BLENHEIM, Jan. 12. Captain Buckley left Blenheim at 10.42 to carry out a search over a prearranged patrol. Obviously the poor visibility up to that hour delayed his departure. It is not altogether certain that the conditions over the route will favour a search and the plane may return at any time. TT the visibility is satisfactory the period of the cruise probably will he four hours after which time, lie. will return to Blenheim. ANOTHER PLANE TO SEARCH.. CHRISTCHURCH. Jan. 12. Captain Findlay, in a DHSO survey machine, left AYigratn aerodrome at eleven o’clock for Trentham arriving there about 1.30. After refuelling he will begin a search of the AYest. Coast of the North Island.
