The Chairman of the Stock Exchange issued a warning that several eases of fraudulent alterations in share certificates in the tin and the rubber companies are reported from the East. The alterations have been made by persons who obtained possession of certificates for a small mini her of .shares, using chemicals to erase the number of shares mentioned and substitute a, larger number. It is believed over £50.000 was lost in the Federated Malay States by persons purchasing bogus certificates.
