LATE LOCALS.

The many J'rieuds of Mrs Howard, of South Hokitika, will regret to hear of her demise to-day after a very short illness. The deceased was a native of South Wales, aged fiO years, and was very widely known in this district, and esteemed because of her very amiable qualities.. The lady was ready at all times to liel|> in philanthrophic work, and was an ardent church worker. The deepest sympathy will be felt foY her husband, who is also a well-known resident of the district, and to whom .\l,rs Howard was so much attached.
