ENGLAND’S WIN. (Australian & N.Z. Cable Association.) CAPETOWN, Jan. 4. Tho weather was line and the attendance small for the England v. South African match. The wicket was slow.

The balance of the Englishmen were dismissed in twenty-one minutes. Wyatt played strenuous cricket, but was lucky. He contributed 58 of the 08 added by the two last wickets. Geary, suffering from elbow trouble, did not play, thus weakening the attack. South Africa required 312 runs, and with 275 minutes to do it, failed. England winning by 87 runs, with half an hour to spare. Details are as follows :

New South Wales won by 3G3 runs on the first innings. Queensland made a remarkable effort to win, time alone boating them, as under the Sheffield Shield rules, only two hours and a-half play is allowed. To-dav there was thundery weather, and a very bad light, and the wicket favoured tho howlers. When play was resumed, Notlding bowled in deadly fashion, and wicket after wicket fell. At one stage seven were down for 74. The remaining batsmen, however, playing purely on the. defensive managed to last out the time, and New South Wales scored a lucky win. Details are ns follows:—-
