(By Telegraph—Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Jan. fi. .Some New South Wales athletes competed at the evening meeting yesterday prior to their departure tor Sydney this afternoon. Results: 100 yards (first heat)- T. G. Melville (Sydney) oiyds I. A. J. Elliott scr. 2, S'. C. Ferg-tj.on 3. Among tho also starters were the Welshmen R. D. Norman 4vds. and E. IT. Scott 4yds, and A. Hodgson 10yds. Melville won by half a yard. Time 10 2-3. Second heat—D. Hunt (Sydney) scr. 1. L. R. Hook 2)yds 2. L. H. Meredith 2-1 yds 3. They were the only starters. Won bv half a yard Time 10 2-5.
In the final Elliott. Hunt and Ferguson competed (Hook. Melville and Meredith were not well enough to compete). In a great finish Elliott won hy a foot. Time 10 1-5. 440 yards—Hunt scr. 1, Ferguson 10yds 2. Also started—Norman syds, Hook Byds, Savidan 10yds. Won by three yards. Time 51 1-5. Half-mile—Savidan 10yds 1, Hodgson 55yds 2, L. C. Barker 35vds 3. Also competed—Norman scr., Clarke 73yds. Won hy a yard. Time 2.2 1-5 Milo relay—New South Wales (Norman. Hunt, Melville, Scott) 1. Time 3.44 3-5. Auckland A.A. and C.C.
