AMUSEMENTS.

EVERYBQDYS’ PICTURES “THE WHITE BLACK SIIEE1” —TO-NIGHT. Hilliard Barthelmess encountered new e.Npei'iences of make-up during tho lilming of “ The White Black Sheep,” which comes ito the Princess Theatre to-night. As a British soldier in Palostime who disguises as the beggar of Kefr Saba, Barthelmess was required to first grow a fuil-lledged heard. Then for his later shots he had to shave it leaving a trim moustache, which in turn came off during the final week of ‘‘ shooting.” It was Dick's first beard or moustache. Dick had to wear the garb of Aran beggar for several weeks during which time he was chased hv Arab troops, beaten up by a Greek cafe owner, imprisoned, in a dreary dungeon, and buried in sand up to his neck as a target for spear-throwers in a hair-rais-ing torture scene. Aside from these physical tribulations undergone by Barthelmess, the story itself inflicted upon him such mental trials as discovering his fiancee dishonest; being ejected from home by his father; and being branded as a deserter. Of course, all are mistakes. Advance reports claim for Barthelmess new histrionic achievements in “ The White Black Sheep,” which Sidney Oleott directed. Tho cast is of exceptional proportions with Patsy Ruth Miller playing the leading role. The supports are topical, comedy, and serial. On Monday next the first chapter of a series of ten of “ The Collegians ” will be presented.
