THE NEW YEAR

MR. BALDWIN'S MESSAGE. f Australian & N.Z. Cablt Association.) LONDON, Dee. 31. Mr Baldwin, in a message to the Primrose League, says that great efforts were made during tho year to restore industrial prosperity, and considerable progress was made, though complete restoration was impossible. There was a bettor spirit in industry and a greater desire for Capital and Labour to co-operate. I trust that the new spirit will extend during 1928. The coming year will he one of great political activity. It is essential to prepare for the next general election. Policy measures of the Government will he subject to much misrepresentation by politcial opponents. The Primrose Jaiague will he of great service to the party, and the country, bv correcting them. I hope that the end of the year sees the league going forward in support of the traditions and principles upon which the Empire depends.”
