! RACING OFFICIAL FAREWELLED. A very pleasant function recently took place when a prominent racing official was farewelled prior to leaving the country. In tfie cour£e''of the evening, when the air was blue with smoke, he rose to make reply: “ Gentlemen,” he said, “I see around me to-night many happy faces.
