Great injuries sustained through being struck by a motor lorry at the corner of Customs Street and Little Queen Street this evening, caused the death of an aged [Maori, Wetere Tekauwhatu. The lorry, driven by Claude Francis Morningskle, was turning from Customs Street into Little Queen Street. Deceased was crossing the road when he was knocked by the vehicle, which was promptly brought to .a standstill. Deceased succumbed to his injuries at the Auckland Hospital in less than ail hour later. It was only a superficial injury—a compound fracture of tho left leg. and it is assumed that shock, accentuated by deceased’s ago caused his death.
