PORTS TO BE VISITED DURING 1 NEXT QUARTER, ; WELLINGTON, Dec. 23. The schedule of movements of 1 HALS. Dunedin and HALS. Diomede for the ensuing three months lias been announced by the Minister of Defence (Hon. F. J. Rolleston). The programme includes visits by "both vessels to Lyttelton. The programme for HALS. Dunedin is arranged for the period from January Hi to April If. and that for HALS. Diomede for the period from January Hi to May 3. 'J’he Dunedin will reach Hauraki Gulf from Auckland on Monday, January IS, and will remain mere until Friday, January 1 17, when she will leave fur Whangaroa, staying there until Monday, February 0. The vessel will return to Auckland that night, and ten (lays later will leave lor New l’K mouth, where she is due on Saturday. February IS. On Wednesday, February 2-’, the Dunedin will leave for Massacre Bay or Port Hardy, on route to Westport, where she should arrive on Friday, February 2-1. She will call tit Oreymouth on Monday. February 27. and the following day visit Milford Sound, being due at Paterson Inlet on Wednesday. February 29. The Dunedin will leave on Wednesday, March 7. for Timaru. remaining there until Wednesday, Match 11. when she will depart for Akaroa. where a stay will he made until Wednesday. March 21. Lyttelton will he visited between March 21 and Thursday, March 29. when the ship will go on' to Wellington, arriving on the morning of Friday, March 30, and staying in port until Tuesday. April 10. The Dunedin will then proceed to Napier, clearing that port on Monday, April I,', for Auckland, where she is due the following morning. The Diomede will remain in the
Hauraki Gulf from Monday, January Hi, until Friday. January 27, when she will return to Auckland, leaving there again on Monday. January 30. lor Bussell. On Wednesday, Febrttray 3. she will put hack to Auckland, which port she will clear on the evening of . httrsday, February 9, for Gisborne, where she will remain until Wednesday, Fcbuary 10. A stay of live days will then be made at Napier, after which the vessels will call at Wanganui
(Tuesday, February 21, to Thursday, February 23), proceeding thence to Greynioutli, where she is due on Friday, February 21. With the Dunedin she will leave that place for the Sounds on Monday, February 2i. and both ships will he together at Paterson Inlet, between Wednesday, I‘ehruary 29, and Wednesday, March i. On the latter date the Diomede will proceed alone to Dunedin, remaining their until Wednesday, March 14. She will join the Dunedin at Akaroa on Thursday. March LI, and both vessels will also be together in Lyttelton, between Wednesday, March 21. and Ihursdav. March 29. The Diomede, however, will remain at Lyttelton until Monday. April 2, when she will proceed to Picton ami the Sounds, where she will remain until Tuesday, April 10.
