GAS COOKER HINTS GAS ECONOMY Always turn lho\gas out immediately it is uni nwilril ; il is cheaper to turn oil' tins tup than draw off the pot. Tapers or matches cost- loss than wasted pas. Do not allow the flames to flare up the -sides of pots and kettles; this does not heat the -contents more quickly, hut wastes heat and causes an unpleasant smell. A low gas flame will keep liquids gently ladling. Boiling water remains at 212 degrees, whether gentle or fast boiling. Always keep the saucepan lid on. Never put on more water to boil than is actually required. Dots and pans should be as broad and flat as possible to utilise heat to the best advantage. Use steamers with several compartments over one burner, instead of several pans each on a different burner. Clean the burners and other loose parts occasionally by washing them in hot water with a little soda; all parts of the Cooker are removable by hand for this purpose. Heat the oven thoroughly before placing in food, the gas can then he lowered Make good use of baking days. Don't, heat Hho oven specially for one or two small dishes. As soon as cooking is completed the oven should be wiped over with a damp cloth. The interior of tlie Cooker is enamelled throughout for eas- cleaning. Watch out for the "SLICK CALI FONT "—the pride of every home! No method of cooking is so clean, convenient, and efficient as when gas is used.
