A Los Angeles message states that u gaoler discovered Hickman attempting to hide a spoon in his clothing during his evening meal. It is believed lie intended to use the spoon to attempt suicide. He was warned that he would he put in irons if lie continued his efforts. A medical examiner reported that .Marion Parker died of heart failure, and not strangulation. Hickman will be defended by a 25-year-old Kansas City attorney, chosen by the accused man’s mother, who lias given iqi hope of his escape from punishment. The ease will precede all others on the file and is expected to lie concluded speedily.
