GAS COOKER GAS ECONOMY Always turn the gas out immediately it. is nol needed ;it is cheaper to turn off the tap than draw off the pot. Tapers or matches cost loss than wasted gas. Do not allow the flames to dare up the sides of pots ami kettles; this does not heat the contents more quickly, hut wastes heat; and causes an unpleasant smell. A low gas flame will keep liquids gently boiling. Boiling water remains at 212 degrees, whether gentle or fast boiling. Always keep the saucepan lid on. Never put on more water to boil than is actually required. Pots and pans should be ns broad and tint as possible to utilise heat to the best advantage. I'se steamers with several compartments aver one burner, instead of several pans each on a different burner. Clean the burners and other loose parts occasionally bv washing them in hot water with a little soda; all parts of the Cooker are removable by hand for this purpose. Heat the oven thoroughly before placing in food, the gas can then ho lowered Make good use of baking days. 'Don't heat the oven specially for one or two small dishes. As soon as cooking h completed the oven should lie wiped over with a damp cloth. The interior of the Cooker is enamelled throughout for easy cleaning. Watch out for the "SLICK CAL!
