SAMOA DEPORTATION
THREE MORE MADE. BV TKMSGRAPH—FIIESS ASSN., COP YEW HI. WELLINGTON, Dee. 24. 'Flic most dramatic action yet taken by the New Zealand Government in connection with tlie situation in Samoa is the decision to deport three of tho leaders of the Citizens’ Commit too from the mandated territory. The following brief statement oil the subject was issued from tlie office of the Prime Minister yesterday: The Administration of Western Samoa.. after taking steps required by the Samoa Amendment Act. 1927. has been authorised by the Governor-Gen-eral in Council to require Messrs Olnf Frederick Nelson. Edwin Win. Gurr and Arthur George Smyth to depart from Western Samoa.” Messrs Nelson and Gurr are to remain absent for a ]>eriod of 5 years and Smyth for a period of two years.
The necessary orders made by the Administrator were served upon the gentlemen named yesterday.
