Smith after twenty-nine hours in the air radioed all was well. SENATORS NOT GUILTY. * WASHINGTON, Dec, 19. Senator Robinson, Democratic Leader, informed the Senate to-day that evidence of the Mexican Fund case in documents presented bv Mr Hearst, disclosed conclusively that four senators had not received one dollar or lioou tendered one cent in connection with such a scheme. THE TRAPPED SUBMARINERS. NEW YORK, Dec. 19. A Boston navy card official announced this afternoon that Submarine S 3 had received a message from the survivors of the wrecked St this morning, appealing for oxygen and rations. A signal message picked up by oscillations from S 3 read: “Oxygen bottle empty. Can you send down couple ‘i It may be possible for divers to place oxygen bottles, soda, lime and emergency rations in the torpedo tula.'.’’ The trapped men reported the temperature was then 37 degrees. The Commander of the Control Forces replied that everything possible has been done and will be done. SUBMARINE TRAGEDY. NEW YORK, Dec. 19. A Boston message states six members of the submarine crew were still alive at noon to-day. Rescue operalions are delayed by the heavy gale. J. Brocklehurts invites inspection of their stock of watches, diamond rings, china, and crystal ware, specially suitable for Xmas presents.
