Special meetings of tlie 'I rannvay,lion’s Union yesterday morning and evening passed a resolution that in view of the fact that the by-law allowing passengers to stand on the front platform of cars was made on the General .Manager’s recommendations, this Union strongly protests against the notice recently posted in depots forbidding inotoinien to converse with passengers, and the threat of loss ot good conduct holidays contained theiein, and requests the General Manager with the Chairman of the City I ramways Committee to meet a deputation from the Union not later than Wednesday to discuss the position. Further Union meetings will he call ed to consider the management’s reply to their representations that the notice should he withdrawn, until such time as passengers are forbidden to stand on the platform.
